Many years ago, my Upline taught me a great Network Marketing Training called "Digging for Gold." It is still one of my most favorite trainings. It's a simple and pragmatic, but very useful and incredibly powerful model. Understanding and following this training can be the difference between winning big – or failing miserably. Ready?
Think of a scale from 1 to 10. If 10 was the superstar— with the best contacts all over the world, incredible charisma and perfect skills and attitude, desperately wanting success in your business (he literally gets ANYTHING accomplished) and 1 was the person with just "low everything." WHO would you like to have in your team? Sure, the 10.
But how do you get those people on your team? You don't know too many of those "super-stars", right? The answer to this question is:
You've got to Dig for Gold!
Let's say YOU are considering yourself a 5. Then YOU know (and are surrounded by) other 4's, 5's and 6's. This is just the way it is. There's usually some like you, some rank a little "higher" and some a little "lower." Quite simple.
Now: As a 5, it is now much easier for you to sponsor a 4 than it is to sponsor a 6. This is because the 4 looks up to you in terms of success and wants to be like you, whereas the 6 might look down to you. So not knowing this training, your frontline would probably fill up with 4's much

more than with 5's or even 6's, because the 4's seem easier to approach and you feel more comfortable talking to them.
Here's the duplicating problem: A 4 knows 3's, 4's and 5's. Now guess who they will sponsor!? Yes – 3's! And a 3 knows 2's, 3's and 4's. Now guess who
You already know where this is going, right? It goes NOWHERE! But it was for sure "the easier way". Yes, down-hill is always easier and much more comfortable than up-hill! But it takes you down, not up!
Your team can strengthen or weaken you – you decide!
So if you want to succeed and bring great people on board, much greater and better than yourself, you need to sponsor up!
Back to you (the 5!): You mostly know 4's, 5's and 6's! When you do your contact list for your business, focus on the 6's (and above). Mark the successful ones, those who you look up to. These are the people you want in your business. They open up a much bigger opportunity for you to get strong leadership into your team. OK, thinking of contacting them might give you some goosebumps— you might fear they could turn you down. Sure they could, and some will— but let me tell you from experience:
The more successful and talented a person is, the more this person will be OPEN for your business model!
Smart business people do NOT look away when it comes to Network Marketing! Times have changed in the business world, and the Network Marketing model is a big winner. Why don't you try the direct approach? I do that all the time when someone asks me what I am doing or when I approach someone— it works great:
"Have you heard about Network Marketing?" (98% would say "yes"). "Great! How much do you know about this business model so far and what do you think of it?" (if you ask that way, they usually do not mess around with their answer).

This is a straight and upfront approach. Don't hide what you are doing. We are not in the 90's anymore where every employee felt better about his job than about a Network Marketing business. This is past and "thinking (acting!) out of the box" has become almost a MUST. The best business experts value Network Marketing as the no.1 business model for average people to achieve extraordinary success. There's nothing better out there for people like you and me, given the company you pick is rock-solid.
Plus, you can always ask your upline for support. I am frequently offering my people to support them with their high-profile contacts. So do not hesitate to call your experienced upline for a 3-way approach! This does look professional for your contact, as in his eyes you use a 3rd party expert to answer his questions. Not much to lose, but a lot to win (your new 6)!
Your new 6 knows 5's, 6's and 7's. Now with the training you've just had, what would now be YOUR advise to your new partner? Sure— and here comes the 7, the 8 and one day, maybe deep in your organization, there's the 10. This will now become a huuuuge leg. Bingo!
One remark: Don't judge people too strict on these numbers— it is just a model to illustrate the thought process. Over time, people's numbers can of course change for the better. I've seen people prosper significantly as they grew as a person. However, this is a time-consuming process. It is an advantage to start right off with the talented ones. If you want a strong steam, you need strong players.
All the best, Sven
